Since Feb '05

Well, as the title says i have been around since Feb '05, seen allot of raiding and there is a few things around that don't seem right, now I'm not "QQ'ing" at all I've gone through it all within the game and i have allot of good to say also (more of that later). No i have posted here maybe once or twice in near 5 years so i'm putting it all into this one.

Now if you cant manage to hold your concentration for more than 3 lines forget it now this isn't short.

Since 05 there's been some things that I've noticed here and there...

On a day to day basis i am a tank a proud warrior tank have been for a hell of a long time. One day i take a wander around these forums and suddenly my class is bad and i need to reroll a prot paladin all of a sudden. Another thing is i have not seen a GM in game for a few years now, is it me or are our GMs merely wandering forums for the viewpoint of their players?. mind you a very small percentage of players read / post these forums, yet apparently this is where blizzard receives most of their feedback. No this doesn't seem right to me at all what is stopping blizzard and talking to us the players in game to see how we feel about our classes as we play them in a level headed state of mind not in a mess that i see that allot of players here are in.

The Death Knight class IS a great class and has all the right abilities and balance required to become just as good of a class as any other, how ever this is far from the case. A brand new player can create a DK after getting any random class to level 55, most classes cant tank but the DK can.DKs after finishing the start quests are thrown in Epl / Outlands and most are expected to tank 5mans and a hell of allot do yet have little or no knowledge of how a tank works, how to control a group or mobs. Even gearing most have little or no knowledge on how important defense is and what it means to a tank.

I believe that redesigning the starting quests so they DK start at level 1 like the rest of us giving them time to figure out how it all works will create a much better community appreciation for the class, instead of what we have now a class with an easy ride to 80 with only 25 levels to figure it all out. Im putting this all out there because i have grouped with so many DKs that just seem to have such an attitude about them and will not listen to any advice because they feel entitled from the "hero class" tag slapped on their heads. Sure the "Hero class" tag helped sell WOTLK copies but do the class some justice and bring the in line with the rest of us, Instead of cheapening the class and throwing such key parts of the game at them in such a short period of time time (55-80).

The vanilla days were great but yes they are gone, there's one thing i believe that was lost somewhat along the way. A small dose of very important class / role pride, Nowadays its all stats and 5% here or there suddenly means your bad and should re-roll (just look at arena rankings and those that re-roll for the top class combos). I mean if you enjoy the class you play and are genuinely interested in getting better you will be a great tank regardless of nerfs / buffs..perfect example is us the prot warriors. No other tank class has had the pride that we have there's some of us from yesteryear that keep to our guns and keep going with the class we enjoy so much regardless of all that's in our way. if only every class could be happy with what they have and just enjoy what they do

At the end of the day this is a game if you enjoy it you wont stand in a raid with your thumb up your backside with your hand out asking for gear. Get into it and enjoy it for what it is, A GAME.
